DIY Chocolate Mint Lip Balm with FREE Printable Labels

DIY Chocolate Mint Lip Balm juicygreenmom

Last Christmas we made DIY Gingerbread Lip Balm for my daughter’s Kindergarten classmates, and they were a big hit. So this year we decided to use Homemade Mommy’s recipe for DIY Chocolate Mint Lip Balm!

I doubled her recipe and substituted avocado oil for sweet almond oil just in case any of the children in my daughter’s class have allergies to almonds.

DIY Chocolate Mint Lip Balm Recipe

  1. Use a double boiler (I use a glass pyrex measuring cup in a pot of water), to melt down the first 3 ingredients. Keep it on low heat.
  2. Add the avocado oil at the end once the solid ingredients have become liquid.
  3. Remove from heat and add the drops of peppermint essential oil. Mix!
  4. Pour into lip balm tubes quickly!

We filled 33 of the typical plastic lip balm tubes with this recipe.

Do you want to make some of these to give away? I have some FREE printable labels for you to use! I used these with the Ecofriendly Avery labels 48863 (made from 100% post consumer waste, water based adhesive, & processed chlorine free), which I cut in half so that I could get 20 labels on a page.

Not a fan of chocolate and mint? Try the DIY Gingerbread Lip Balm we made last year, or the Moisturizing Lip Balm recipe I use everyday! You can also customize this base lip balm recipe for any flavour you like!

    • Hi Elizabeth, thanks for your comment. The beeswax is what makes it harden more so that it isn’t really mushy. I bet you could use a different kind of wax that is safe, but I haven’t tried any other types yet.
