Recycling at London Drugs: big companies going green!

Recycling at London Drugs big companies going green juicygreenmom

A friend of mine texted me excitedly about a recycling program she was reading about at London Drugs. It may not be common knowledge, but London Drugs launched a “What’s the Green Deal?” program that includes a recycling program for all of its stores in BC, Alberta, Manitoba, and SaskatchewanIt’s great to see that businesses are now encouraging people to recycle more. Recycling is such an easy thing for everyone to do and there are no excuses for not doing it!

You can bring in tons of stuff to be recycled (including things that would otherwise need a trip to the EcoStation, or go directly into the garbage). The list of things that can be donated is as follows –

  • Electrical and Electronic goods (TVs, VCRs, computers, monitors, printers, etc) – by the way, your data is cleaned from hard drives before being sent off to be destroyed and recycled
  • Small Appliances (purchased at London Drugs – including small refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners)
  • Styrofoam, hard and soft plastic, and cardboard packaging from products purchased at London Drugs
  • Cell phones, PDA and rechargeable batteries
  • Batteries
  • lightbulbs: Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFL’s) and fluorescent light tubes up to 4-foot lengths
  • Disposable cameras
  • Ink jet, laser cartridges
  • Metal film canisters
  • Plastic bags
  • Pop bottles and cans (BC only)
  • Insurance plastic folders

They also have a collection program for pharmaceuticals including syringes and dated medications.

Recycling at London Drugs is pretty darn awesome, if you ask me! Just another reason to shop there!
